Summit has made a huge difference in all of my futurity horses. It helps them stay happy and healthy during those long shows.
Cade McCutcheon was just 18 years old when he was named to the 2018 U.S. Reining Squad for the FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG)—making him the youngest U.S. athlete in history to represent reining at the competition. Riding Custom Made Gun, he helped secure a team gold medal and earned individual bronze, setting the stage for a meteoric rise in the sport.
At age 19, Cade made more history, becoming the youngest NRHA Open Futurity Champion, winning on Super Marioo, and simultaneously crossing the $1 million mark in career earnings—the youngest ever to do so. In 2020, he placed third at the USEF Selection Trial and WEG Reining Test Event, adding yet another elite-level accomplishment to his résumé.
By January 2024, Cade surpassed $2 million in NRHA earnings, following a string of top-three finishes at premier events like The Run For A Million and the NRHA Derby. His career includes co-winning the inaugural Run for a Million in 2019, where he took home over $300,000—solidifying his place among reining’s most consistent and highest-earning athletes.
Cade grew up riding and competing—earning his first check at age 7—as part of a legendary reining family. He is the son of NRHA Million Dollar Riders Tom and Mandy McCutcheon, and the grandson of NRHA Hall of Famers Tim and Colleen McQuay. With reining in his blood, Cade has trained at the family’s renowned Tom McCutcheon Reining Horses facility in Aubrey, Texas, and continues to compete in Level 4 Open Futurities, Derbies, and major championships across the globe.
He also made a special appearance on the hit TV series Yellowstone, further cementing his crossover appeal beyond the reining world.
As a professional trainer and competitor, Cade relies on Summit’s horse joint and mobility supplements to help his horses perform at their best. With long, demanding show schedules, he credits Summit for helping his futurity prospects stay sound, supple, and competition-ready.
Cade McCutcheon is not just a rising star—he’s already a history-maker in the world of reining, with a future that continues to break records and redefine what's possible for young riders in the sport.
