David Blake

Senior International Grand Prix Winner

David Blake

David Blake is an Irish international show jumper based at Pine Hollow Farms in the USA. A standout talent from a young age, David rose through the ranks as one of Ireland’s top youth competitors, winning his first Senior International Grand Prix at just 17 years old. In 2008, he was named Showjumping Ireland’s Young Rider of the Year, and in 2009, he earned strong results at Royal Windsor and helped Team Ireland finish fourth at the Young Rider European Championships in Hoofddorp, Holland—just shy of a team medal.

David has been a cornerstone of Pine Hollow Farms since April 2012, where he serves as head rider and trainer. He has developed a top-tier team of Grand Prix horses and students, consistently producing results on the international circuit. His major wins include the $127,000 Adequan® CSI3* Grand Prix at Tryon with Binkie, and multiple victories aboard Keoki, Cornwall BH, and J. Diago in CSI2* classes across the U.S., including top finishes at Wilmington and Traverse City.

In 2025, David and Cornwall BH captured the $70,000 Farm House Grand Prix CSI2*, while J. Diago helped secure a double-clear in the Grand Prix Qualifier CSI2*—underscoring David’s consistent presence at the top of the leaderboard.

David’s career is marked not only by competition wins but by a thoughtful approach to horsemanship and horse management. He integrates Summit’s joint and mobility IM for horses into his care routine, helping his mounts maintain flexibility, reduce inflammation, and perform at their best through grueling show schedules. He firmly believes that maintaining his horses’ comfort and joint health has been key to their longevity and success.

With a strong foundation in international show jumping, leadership at one of the most respected training programs in the U.S., and appearances in Young Rider Nations Cups, European Championships, and Senior Grand Prix events worldwide, David Blake has established himself as both a competitor and mentor at the highest level.

His results have climbed him into the Top 100 of the Longines FEI World Rankings, and his future in the sport continues to shine brightly—built on discipline, talent, and a true partnership with his horses.
